Tailored
 Calliden offers its Builders Warranty product through selected intermediaries. Our approach to Warranty is tailored for each Intermediary and client group or association.

Streamlined
 Calliden aims to streamline the Warranty insurance buying process and ease the adminstrative burden by utilising already existing information to facilitate tailored cover solutions for specific groups of builders.

Best Practice
The builders we support aspire to raise building standards and adopt sound business management and risk management practices.

Underwriting Guidelines

Our underwriting guidelines are developed and tailored for each group but in general, Calliden will consider the following in our Warranty underwriting decisions:

  • The builders length of time and experience in the construction sector
  • Their record of claims or complaints relating to workmanship
  • Their ability to manage their business through the construction cycle, including the management of suppliers, sub-contractors and customer expectations
  • Their ongoing profitability and solvency
  • Their current and past activity levels
  • Their current status with the various regulatory bodies and,
  • Whether they or their directors, partners or supervisors have been involved in any past insolvencies.

Calliden and our intermediary partners do not require or expect any builder who qualifies to provide any form of guarantee or deed to support their Warranty requirements. However in certain circumstances some owner builders may be required to provide a counter indemnity.

Commercial Reality Insurance Brokers Pty Ltd (Building Ethics Program)
Calliden works in partnership with Commercial Reality Insurance Brokers, in support of the Building Ethics accreditation program that ensures all Builders who form part of the program have independent inspections undertaken through our quality assurance partner Building Ethics Australia.

Austcover
Calliden works in partnership with Austcover to provide a Home Warranty Insurance Scheme specifically for swimming pool builders.

Buildsafe
Calliden supports Buildsafe Insurance Brokers with its Owner Builder Warranty product and services and also provides support with a combined construction risks and eligibility product for small builders associated with Buildsafe.

Master Builders
Master Builders Insurance Services and Calliden offer a number of unique, uncomplicated construction and builders warranty products simplifying the insurance process for builders.

Savill Hicks Corp
Calliden works in partnership with Savill Hicks to provide a Home Warranty Insurance Scheme specifically for Kitchen and Bathroom builders.
